Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the 2025 Yashin Trophy award winner after helping Paris Saint-Germain to a quadruple, including the Champions League. The Italian has since joined Manchester City after being frozen out of the squad by Luis Enrique. Donnarumma dethroned Emiliano Martinez as the best men's goalkeeper in the world, with the Argentine goalkeeper having won the last two editions.
Donnarumma wins the Yashin trophy
Donnarumma has already won the Yashin Trophy once before in the 2021 season after his heroics at the European Championship to help Italy win the tournament. The 26-year-old goalkeeper was present at the tournament and has matched Martinez as the only one to lift the trophy twice.

Donnarumma kept in goal for PSG in 43 games and kept a total of 17 clean sheets. Les Parisiens won the Ligue 1, the Champions League, the Trophee des Champions and the Coupe de France, while making it to the final of the 2025 Club World Cup.

Donnarumma has since moved to Manchester City and kept in all three of their games so far, conceding just twice. He had a spectacular showing against Arsenal on Saturday as the CItizens were held to a 1-1 draw. The italian will now be able to show off his Yashin Trophy at the Etihad when Manchester City take on Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
